01The short version
AgrosVision is free for farmers. Send a photograph of a plant and the model tells you the most likely disease and a treatment. It is a strong, tested opinion — not a certainty, and not a replacement for an agronomist or an extension officer.
Check the confidence figure we show you. When it is low, get a second opinion before you spend money. Always read the label on any chemical before you use it.
02This agreement
These terms are between you and AgrosVision (“we”, “us”). By using the AgrosVision website and the diagnosis tool on it, you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
They work together with our privacy notice, which explains what happens to your photograph.
If you use AgrosVision on behalf of a co-operative, a programme or an employer, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for them. Bulk enrolment and shared dashboards are covered by a separate written agreement; where the two conflict, that agreement wins.
03What the service is — and is not
The model was trained on crop imagery collected in local fields. It returns a disease name, a confidence figure, and a costed treatment in the units you buy in.
It is not:
- A guarantee. Two diseases can look the same on one leaf. Nutrient shortage, drought stress, herbicide damage and pest damage can all imitate a disease.
- Complete. It covers the crops listed on the site and nothing else. Outside that list, treat any answer as unreliable.
- Advice from a licensed agronomist, vet, or pharmacist. Where a decision is large — a whole field, an expensive input, a crop you rely on — confirm with a person who can stand in your field.
- An emergency service. Suspected notifiable or quarantine diseases must be reported to your national plant protection authority, not to us. We answer email in working hours, not at once.
The decision to spray, uproot, buy or sell is always yours, and it is taken with knowledge of your field that we do not have.
04Using chemicals safely
Where we name a product or a dose, it is a starting point, not an instruction. Before you use anything:
- Read the manufacturer’s label. The label is the law and it beats us every time.
- Check the product is registered for your crop in your country, and buy from a licensed dealer. Counterfeit agro-chemicals are common.
- Respect the dose, the protective clothing, and the pre-harvest interval — the number of days between the last spray and harvest. Ignoring it can make food unsafe and can get a crop rejected at market.
- Keep children, animals and drinking water away from mixing and spraying.
Never exceed a label rate because a diagnosis looked confident.
05Your photographs stay yours
You keep ownership of every image you send. You give us permission to store and process it only for as long as it takes to produce your diagnosis and send it back — see the privacy notice for the retention periods.
A photograph is used to improve the model only if you separately choose to donate it. That choice is off unless you turn it on, and you can withdraw it later.
Only send photographs you took or are allowed to send, and keep other people, documents and anything private out of the frame.
06Fair use
Use the service for diagnosing plants and livestock. Do not:
- resell the service, or charge a farmer for access to it, without a written agreement with us;
- scrape it, hammer it with automated requests, or try to extract or copy the model;
- upload malware, other people’s private images, or content that is unlawful;
- present a diagnosis as the verdict of a government body, of us, or of a person who did not give it;
- break the security of the service or of anyone using it.
Automated or bulk access for research is welcome — ask us first at hello@agrosvision.com and we say yes.
07Price and availability
Diagnosis is free for farmers and it stays free. If that ever has to change, we will say so on this page at least 60 days beforehand, and existing diagnoses will not be held back from you.
The service runs around the clock. Networks still fail, models get retrained and maintenance happens, so we do not warrant unbroken availability. A diagnosis needs a live connection — if the signal drops mid-photograph, nothing is sent and nothing is charged to your bundle beyond what already left the phone.
Standard data charges from your network operator are yours to pay. One diagnosis costs about 43 kB.
08Where responsibility sits
The service is provided as it is. We do not warrant that a diagnosis will be correct, that a treatment will work, or that a yield will be saved.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for crop loss, lost profit, wasted inputs, or business losses that follow from a decision you took after using AgrosVision. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim — which, for a free service, is nothing.
Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that the law does not permit us to limit. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
09Suspension
We can suspend or block access if it is being used in a way that breaks these terms, endangers other users, or threatens the service. Where it is sensible and lawful, we will tell you why first and give you a chance to put it right. You can stop using the service at any time; there is nothing to cancel.
10Changes to these terms
We update these terms when the service changes. The date at the top shows the version in force. For a change that materially affects you, we will post a notice on this page at least 30 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.
11Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of Lagos State have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your own country and may bring a claim there.
Before going to court, write to us. Most disputes come from a diagnosis that went wrong, and we would rather look at the photograph, tell you what the model got wrong, and fix the model.
